Cottage Life
March 18-20, 2015
By R N

It was a three day event. On arriving the first day, we had self-introduction and music activities and cooked minestrone with short macaroni pasta for dinner.

The next day, we took part in food and drink guessing games and an object hiding and finding game, as well as preparing a skit for performance. I had a very enjoyable time. The dinner this time was Nepali curry. It was delicious. We gathered around a campfire after dinner and enjoyed games and talk.

This training camp was very enjoyable. I want to continue studying English in the future, and if I have a chance I want to participate in the camp again.

  Thank you very much!!

The Short-term English Camp
March 18-20, 2015

The Short-term English Camp was held from March 18 to 20 this year and it was my third time to join in the event.

The indoor and outdoor activities were equally enjoyable. Everything was great fun! When it came to cooking, it was difficult for us to read the recipes written in English, but I enjoyed figuring out how to cook the things with the other people in my group. Also, an old Nepali friend came to visit and show us how to cook the Nepali curry. It was very spicy (!!!) but I have gotten used to eating Nepali food every year so I have come to love the taste. Thank you so much, Ashok, for coming to the English house and cooking dinner with us.

The skit performed by both teams this year was a “who am I” / “what am I” quiz. We found it difficult to make up the questions. But it was fun using well known everyday things as answers! I was so happy when I was able to guess an answer after just a few hints.

Thank you so much everyone for these three days. Cottage life was really fun! If I have time, I want to take part in the next English house event too.

Memories of the English Camp
March 18-20, 2015
By YK

My memories of this camp are very pleasant. We all prepared meals together and everyone gathered in one place to eat. We also had free time in the cottages together and the chance to play mahjong.

On the evening of the second day we held a campfire. That is one thing that will stay as a good memory for me, together with the practice of using English.

I look forward to another English camp next year.

Short-term English House Report
March 18-20 2015

This training camp was a challenge in many ways but it was also a lot of fun. On the first day, we played a game of spotting the deliberate lies in other groups’ self-introductions, and in the evening we listened to guitar songs played by one teacher.

On the second day, we were challenged to guess the price and quality differences between different types of tea and baumkuchen, and later we held a campfire.

The third day was our return home, so it was a mix of fun memories and nostalgia.

After these three days, I came away with wonderful memories and made a new friend. I felt pleased to have participated.
